THIS IS IT! I LAUNCHED THE BLOG! Woohoo
I am so very excited to launch this blog and capture my creative journey.

This being my first post, I’d like to take the opportunity to introduce myself, share the purpose of this blog, and talk about what I have planned for you. 🙂

My name is Csenge, but most people can’t really pronounce that, so they usually go with my nickname Cicy. I completed my master’s studies, I lived in several countries, and now I am starting my big-girl’s-life. For support, I have two huge dogs and an elderly cat by my side. I have always loved arts and crafts, but for the longest time, I forgot about it. I am glad to have found my way back to it, although I drift between all the arts. A couple of years ago, I found my love for crocheting… I am sure sooner or later there will be a whole bunch of posts about it. But one thing at a time, I’ll be focusing on sewing right now. Speaking of which, that little girl in the picture all dressed up for kindergarten Halloween playing with a Winnie-the-Pooh plushie is the baby me, and that homemade mushroom costume was sewn by my great-great-grandmother! Is making clothes running in my veins too? We’ll soon find it out!

Why sewing? Well, I decided not to buy new clothes; I’ll be sewing them myself. I just got my mom’s old machine fixed and cleaned, and I’ll start new projects soon enough. The idea is to sew a new wardrobe with vintage-style clothing, mainly those beautiful dresses from the 1950s. Whilst that is a great goal, I will have to start small, as I barely ever sewed by hand, let alone used a machine. There is a long and rocky journey ahead of me, but I am excited about learning the tricks and conquering the ups and downs.

The purpose of the blog? I love sharing my experiences with others, so I wanted to make my journey accessible through a blog. I want to share my ups and downs, my milestones and my struggles. This blog is my way of documenting my creative, complete beginner vintage clothing sewing project. Eventually, in the long run, if I truly enjoy what I’m doing and create something that captures people’s interest, I might begin selling. But let’s not get ahead of ourselves, the current and primary purpose of this blog is to share my journey. I deep down hope to get input from the readers too. You can learn so much through other’s input. Naturally, I am excited to read any and all the comments I may get on the posts. The final reason for launching this blog is to provide some motivation to persist, I suppose. Once the blog is up and running, I hope it will inspire me to keep pursuing crafts in my life.

Having said that, I will be reporting here every Saturday on the progress I have made in any project I am pursuing at that moment, and on other interesting topics as they come. I will be sharing what I am doing and how I am doing it, whether it is a sewing or crochet pattern, a candle-making guide, or a new recipe I’m trying out (spoilers spoilers spoilers). Moreover, I will (as per my hopes) write a recap post every last day of the month on the month’s progress and my aspirations for the next. To capture this journey, I have launched an Instagram profile @cicysprojects, where I share behind-the-scenes and smaller milestones (and hiccups) at least twice a week, or as they arise. I may be opening a YouTube channel too, but that is way down the line, who knows what the future holds?

I would love for you to engage with the blog, so don’t be shy to reach out in the comments or in private through my email address: cicys.projects@gmail.com.

Every post will end with a lovely quote as a reminder that life is great and soo worth it! These quotes have nothing to do with who says them, politics, or religion; they will be quotes that bear good meanings regardless of who, where, and why said it. For the first one, I can’t imagine a better quote than “and suddenly you know: It’s time to start something new and trust the magic of beginnings” by Meister Eckhart.

Absolutely no idea how I’ve stumbled on this, but I remember you crocheting things for others when we spoke years back! Glad to see you’ve continued with it! Hope to see some more animals!
