Care to dance?

This week I am reviewing the dances that stole my heart that originated in the 1920s, 1940s, and 1960s. Some of them give you real vintage feels, some of them seem a bit more modern, but all swing dances make me happy. 07.06.2025.

May

The fourth month was a busy month with big and ultimately small progress. I am finished with the jumpsuit as much as I can, now it is waiting for the big moment where I believe I can finish it. I also started to build my vintage style beyond clothes. 31.05.2025.

On a hunt

I am on a hunt for vintage sewing patterns and other gems on Facebook marketplace. I am very excited, a little disheartened because things aren’t accessible in the country I am currently residing in, but I am also hopeful. 24.05.2025

OWN PROJECTS ON PAUSE

I have decided to pause on all projects where I am not following a pattern. I need to learn a bit more, drawing out my own patterns and trying to figure everything out myself is a bit too much. For now at least. 17.05.2025

Jumpsuit: Part 3

The trousers of the jumpsuit are completed! Suuper cool! Although I don’t know how to proceed, the top is trickier than I imagined… 10.05.2025

Jumpsuit: Part 2

Week 13 was great! I had very little time to work on the jumpsuit, yet I made big progress. I hemmed the pieces and started sewing them together! I am so looking forward to continuing when I return home from my spontaneous little trip. 03.05.2025

April

The third month of sewing myself a vintage wardrobe was lovely. I finished the blouse, and I started on another clothing project, which is already going super good. I am making a lot of progress, which I am very proud of. I already cannot wait for next month’s review! 30.04.2025

Jumpsuit: Part 1

Week 12 of my sewing journey, and I’m off to my next big project: A jumpsuit! I’m surprised how much progress I’ve made on it, if I keep up this good work in 2 weeks, I’ll be done… maybe. We’ll see, stick along to find out! 26.04.2025.

Shirt: Part 5 FINALE

FINALLY, the blouse is done and ready. So exciting! This week I prepared some some lessons I learnt during this blouse project, and some lovely pics of how it turned out. 19.04.2025.

Shirt: Part 4

Week 9’s news is that the blouse is ALMOST ready, and I figured out what was wrong with it last week. I only have a couple of small bits to finish off. I put the zippers in; I adore them. This week saw some progress, after all. 05.04.2025.

March

The second month of sewing myself a vintage wardrobe has been very slow due to work and other duties. However, I am grateful for the progress I’ve made, and I am looking forward to the next month. πŸ™‚ 31.03.2025.

Shirt: Part 3 and my new things

Week 8 was even slower because I am stuck with the fitting. It would not fit like it should, and I don’t know why. The answer to that question is *not* in this post because I am yet to figure that out myself. But new cool sewing tools are. 29.03.2025.

Shirt: Part 2

Week 7 was very slow, I made very little progress, but I am working through this project slowly but surely. Stay around for part 3 next week! 22.03.2025.

Shirt: Part 1

Week 6 was busy! I drew out the pattern of a shirt, cut out the pattern from the material, and began sewing the left side of the shirt. It would’ve been completed if my sewing machine hadn’t died on me. 😦 15.03.2025.

Matching skirt

Week 4 has marked the start of my first skirt… well, my mom’s first skirt, but a skirt nonetheless. We had a special mother-daughter day which led us to sewing matching skirts for ourselves. Exciting! 01.03.2025.

February

The very first monthly review is here. TIME FLIES! I’ve completed my very first project and bought an insane amount of fabric. It’s been nice, and I cannot wait for the next ones.:) Thank you for tagging along!! 28.02.2025.

My first project

This week I started (and finished) my first sewing project, which represents a huge step towards sewing my own vintage wardrobe. I picked out the most beautiful fabric and have planned out next week’s project. Week 3 has been busy and exciting! 22.02.2025.

My little rectangles

Week 1 of my vintage wardrobe journey was filled with adventures: setting up the machine, experimenting with different stitch types, and creating countless rectangles. With each attempt, I grew more confident, and I can’t wait to tackle bigger projects as I continue to learn! 08.02.2025.
