Hello there! Now that the blouse is ready and done, I’ve decided to continue my sewing journey with a jumpsuit. I have this cute jumpsuit that I bought last year in the United States in a second-hand shop, and I absolutely adore it!

I’ve decided to make a jumpsuit similar to that from the blue-white flowery material I made the blouse from.

Fuelled by enthusiasm, I measured the original jumpsuit and noted its measurements. I did that with the help of my lovely sister, who is much better at maths than I am. This, of course, meant that she was in charge of adding up the numbers. I’ve measured the sides, all the bits and bobs we needed, and she helped me calculate the angles at which I had to replicate the pattern on the new material. It was so lovely to work with my sister, I’ll make sure to find patterns I can’t figure out by myself to get her involved in the process haha

Anyways, after drawing out the pattern on the material, I cut it all out, which left me with 4 parts of the pants and one side of the top.

I’m yet to draw out the front part of the top, because the one on the original is quite tricky, and I don’t know how I could manage that, so I am leaving that step for last. Until then, I’m thinking about it in the back of my mind. Procrastinator much?

I’ve already finished hemming the two pieces of my left pants, which honestly was a nightmare. If I haven’t told you already, hemming is the absolute worst. I do not enjoy it at all, but it is a must, so I am happy to do it.

I would start with the right side of my pants too, but I’m this weekend I am busy learning a new dance! As some of you might know, I love dancing, I think it is the absolute best, and the dances I’ve chosen are equivalent to a whole workout so it keeps me fit haha I’m dancing Boogie-Woogie, Rock’n’Roll, Lindy Hop, and now I’ve taken on West-Coast Swing. So, this weekend, I’m spending 8 hours learning West-Coast Swing, and tonight I’ll go to a Boogie-Woogie/Rock’n’Roll party too! I am super excited. Let’s see how much I can keep up with the music. I’ll let you know on my Instagram.
As long as you keep going, you’ll keep getting better. And as you get better, you gain more confidence. That alone is success by Tamara Taylor
