Well, well, my old chums, the time has come to do the first monthly review!
The first month of sewing myself a vintage wardrobe has been very exciting. I mean everything new is thrilling! I’ve practised on scrap material (I’m an expert on rectangles now), organised my sewing box, finished my first project (a scrunchie), and started another project (a matching skirt with my mom)… The progress of the latter will be revealed in the next post.
The excitement that led me to start this journey pertains, I am more excited than ever. I’ve taken several trips to a couple of fabric shops, I have 25 meters of material at home now, waiting for me to get them into shape. I have a vision for all of these materials, and although I haven’t yet reached the goal, I am enjoying the journey.
A quick overview of my new materials:

- A relatively hard, absolutely stunningly beautiful flowery cotton material. From this beauty, I’ll sew myself a dress.

- Another relatively hard cotton, an absolutely gorgeous (my favourite) material. I’ll sew myself a whole set! I will make a vest and a skirt from it. I might make shorts if there is enough material left.

- As opposed to those two mentioned above, this third material is a silk jersey, a very light material. The previous ones are somewhat brutal, they have a somewhat rigid feel to them, but this material is very light. The wind would blow it away easily. I’m making a matching skirt with my mom from it, it is going to be a soft long skirt. Can’t wait to rock it with her!

That’s it for the summary of the first month. I am looking forward to next month when I’ll finish the matching skirts and the vest from the flowery material. That’s the minimum I would love to do. It would be so cool if I had time for the flowery skirt and other hair accessories, or whatever my imagination spits out. We shall see!
